Opening Worship and Rules

Come to the waters edge. The opening worship was simply beautiful and creative. Our Bishop preached a meaningful word of challenge to our church to "immediately" follow Jesus. It was an amazing worship singing with 4,000 people. What a joy! I wish all of you could be present in body to feel te energy and to smell the burning sage from the Native American bowl of burning incense to bless our space. Songs were introduced and there was a HUGE choir from the Florida conference. After the worship we had a marathon evening of discussion and voting about the Rules of GC. Who would have thought that it would take a day an a Hal to agree on how we would run the conference proceedings. I have to admit, if you rent infatuated by Robert's rules of Order(like me) it was a boring discussion. But don't be fooled. The reason it was such a long discussion was because it will imply who and how gets to speak on the floor of General Conderence. Summed up- boring and yet important. More to come. Sitting now in the Church and Society legislative committee. Peace out everyone!
